Yes, laws exist. The issue is how they are enforced, and what aim a particular law actually serves in practice Neurontin 400mg.
Nice description of Linsay Graham's position. The whole part about a birthing mother as "sashaying" into a hospital (after a thirsty trek across the desert while pregnant) and "dropping" her "brat" is the sort of classic de-humanization that actually helps to keep Generic Neurontin "illegals" employed here in the U.S. as "illegals," in other words, paid little or nothing and easily deported if they feel like complaining. Honesty, real amnesty for more people would be great, it would put workers on at least a more equal ground buy Neurontin. Most immigration "reforms" have just been guest worker programs that create legal serf classes instead of an illegal ones.Guarding the border consistently would be a decent step too, although it might be more expensive than admitting new citizens Neurontin 400mg. Even for the ancient Chinese, the "great wall" did not ultimately work. Ultimately it's not so much about laws as how they are enforced, and immigration laws have nearly always been enforced with the goal of a cheap labor force Generic Neurontin 400mg (guest or illegal) as the main aim.The current law makes perfect sense compared to the laws in some other countries Neurontin 300mg. I met a classmate of Ghanaian descent once who said that she had been born in Kuwait and lived there for nearly all of her life, but she never gained citizenship there. If someone lives in this country for all of his or her life, from birth to death, and remains an "alien," with no hope of ever becoming anything else, then, in essence, we've created something similar to the buy Neurontin permanent slave class the 14th amendment was set up to avoid Generic Neurontin 300mg.
The digging out takes time. He's only been in office 18 months! It takes time to get a program in place, and then it takes time to work. Go back and look at how long it took FDR dig out. The US economy is like an ocean liner, it doesn't turn on a dime. And it is exactly concern about the debt which has kept this administration from enacting the larger stimulus that economists such as Krugman say were needed.
Perhaps he put the quotes on the rug so he could stomp on them. I am largely an Obama supporter, but he's dropped the ball on these issues.
JEC, just how simplistic is your world view? EVERY law restricts freedom of choice ... usually in the service of protecting someone else's safety or well being. EVERY law imposes a certain morality on everyone in a society. Would you eliminate all laws? Theft, murder, rape ... all legal? Every kind of drug...legal? Setting off bombs in crowded buildings -- no problem! Wouldn't want to restrict someone's freedom of choice! So of course immigrants crossing the border would be fine. And molesting and abusing kids Neurontin 300mg! I could go on, but I've made my point. Every citizen in a civilized society both benefits from and is restricted by the dictates of that society. If you're an anarchist, JEC, and believe in no laws whatsoever, then I will at least see a consistency in your point of view. Otherwise I have to find your position hypocritical. And as an answer to your question here are my guesses: The Religious Right? Neoconservatives?
Gimme a break. Look, my friends on the left, when you say that Obama hasn't given us "a reason" to be enthusiastic, you simply are ignoring the fact politics is the art of the possible. Let's see, what has Obama done in 18 months in office? (with republicans trying to block anything and everything):- Stimulus saved us from a depression- buy Generic Neurontin Health care reform that was, what, 40 years overdue?- Wall streetreform- Two new left-of-center supreme court justices- Iraq draw-down- Started the process of ending DADTOh, and the 'little' things like Lilly Ledbetter Fair Play Act, Credit Card Reform, SCHIP expansion, reduced stem cell research restrictions.Oh, and re-establishing relationship with NATO and other allies, and... ...probibiting the use of torture. So OK, other than that, what has he done for us lately?
I could not agree more that our President has so vacillated on some of his most loyal supporters. President Bush's fundamentalist knew he and his cabal of neocons thought they were loons but they stayed with him anyway buy Neurontin. However, I will not nor should any of the groups he has sold out be as forgiving for the trinkets he has thrown our way to mollify the knowledge of his lack of backbone for our interest. Could you imagine where civil rights in the 60's would have been had Pres. Johnson and Sen. Robert Kennedy had the same lack of courage Pres. Obama has shown for his minorities? If he is re-elected it will not be with my vote ...unless he finds his backbone and SOON.
I fully agree that GWB was a disaster.
